YRC sees the value in providing the city’s youth with all the tools, resources, and support they need in order to reach their potential. Ever since our founding in 2015, we have strived to create a more vibrant and compassionate neighborhood where Youth Resource Center is seen as an essential leader in making our city a world-class place to live and raise a family. We go above and beyond to prepare our youth to become responsible, actively engaged global citizens and leaders.

LIFE SKILLS CENTER

Youth justice is one of the biggest civil rights issues of our time. Teens and young adults who are involved in the juvenile or adult criminal justice systems are disproportionately identified as having special needs in school and are disproportionately low-income, black and Hispanic. Many have endured mental or physical hardships and spent time in foster care – circumstances we know place them at increased risk for disconnection.

If I had to give a little background about myself I would say surviving the streets of Detroit, and prison was tough but I'm determined to let my light shine.

Growing up in a single parent home it was hard watching my mom work two jobs, complete her education all well raising us. I turned to the streets to find things to do almost cost me my life.

As you know,  Youth Resource Center believes that we have the ability to make a difference in our community and are dedicated to serving our city and its residents. With this in mind, we’ve chosen to ask for volunteers in helping our youth in different areas.
